So glad we stayed here! Visited from San Antonio, Texas. Brought my wife for her birthday and San Juan had a major water pipe break in the city. But, USCG Station had us taken care of, so we didn’t have any issues. They even provided us with both bottled water and potable water just in case. The room is basic, everything you need, nice bed, fridge, microwave. We are retirees so access was easy and everyone was very friendly. The gate is literally a block from all the major historic sites in San Juan, bring comfortable walking shoes. Only word of caution, base is going through a major upgrade so construction is going on. But it’s not bothersome. All in all, it’s a great location and everyone was so friendly in our travels throughout the island.

Our stay at the Gonzalez Hall Guest Room was definitely pleasant and enjoyable. The two rooms we used were very clean, and the view of the bay was incredibly relaxing. The ability to walk throughout Old San Juan and visit local restaurants without having to pay for parking was another major advantage. Ms. Laboy, as well as the security staff at the entrance, were very courteous and professional. I definitely recommend it.

Our check in was easy and uneventful. The room was very clean and spacious. We had a comfortable bed, nice towels in the bathroom and all the amenities you would expect in a nice hotel. We look forward to returning for some more excellent R&R. Thanks to Mariola for her support. Unrelated to the room stay, we were a little disappointed in some of the security folks at the Base San Juan gate. I was harassed by a young lady who obviously was not familiar with the Coast Guard Auxiliary. She questioned me about my intentions including asking me my room number at Gonzalez Hall. Providing a valid ID card, which I did, should have been enough. Aside from that small issue. All was great.

Our stay at Gonzalez Hall was great! The room was cozy and comfortable with photos on the wall that provided a warm comfy home vibe. Future upgrades should include a larger bed since the room's can support it. Overall, awesome location and great staff. This was a great surprise and stay for us. The room was clean , the bed was extremely comfortable, even for 2 adults. Soap/shampoo/ conditioner dispensers were a nice touch . I would definitely do this again . Very convenient to the old city.Also the 24hr convenience store was fully stocked and served us well. Email notifications were prompt and the whole process was super easy. Thank you SAN JUAN MWR And Ms. Mariola.

My wife and I stay at La Puntilla guest housing around once a month or so for the last few years. The rooms are always clean and ready but have been pretty spartan as far as furnishings, which is understandable since the rooms are for the most part barracks. We recently stayed two nights in June and were super surprised to discover significant improvements to the rooms. New, functioning window shades, shower amenities (shampoo/bath gel etc), wall art, and new bedding to name a few things. These improvements, coupled with the always professional interaction with the MWR guest housing representative, have really improved the overall experience of staying at La Puntilla guest housing. Our hope is that the physical facilities around the base will take notice of the pride displayed by MWR and do the same. It’s hard not to notice the trash on the base such as coke cans, wrappers etc. We pick it up but noted several Coasties walking right by trash without bending a back. This negative aside, our stays on base hosted by MWR are still super enjoyable. We appreciate the improvements!!!

USCG Base San Juan offers guest housing that is affordable, clean and safe in historic Old San Juan. The staff is friendly and easy to work with. Thank you all for such a great stay. Will definitely stay again and recommend to any eligible patron.

Lodging at La Puntilla was excellent. Room was clean and well equipped. Can't beat staying in Old San Juan for a very reasonable price. Parking inside the base was a plus given the scarcity of parking in old San Juan. We loved the fact of being within walking distance from tourist attractions, restaurants and all kinds of shops.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was a great experience. The location was perfect. We received excellent customer service, the room was clean and everything was appropriate and convenient. My wife and I spent two nights at USCG Base La Puntilla. Very convenient to walk Old San Juan and all that it has to offer. The facilities are very clean. Lots of great MWR information for all sorts of activities. Spartan accommodations just right for spending the night after a day in town. Hands down the best bang for the buck in OSJ/Condado/Miramar area.

Excellent visit to Base San Juan. The staff at the offices and on site perform their duties above and beyond expectations. Victor and the other lady at base San Juan are always helpful and perform flawlessly. Emma's replacement - Carla, is knowledgeable and helpful. My rooms were clean and well maintained. Parking is always sufficient. I have no complaints. the management should know that their employees and facilities reflect the high standards of the armed forces. Well done and thanks!! We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Emma Rodriguez for hooking us up last minute at the guest quarters. The accommodations were ideal for my situation at the time, as I had to make frequent visits to the VA hospital for a procedure, and then recover before a long trip back to Aguafilla. Thank you!! The quarters, dining facility, and staff are the best, as expected, and you all made us feel like one big Coast Guard family.

We had a great stay. Only issue is Uber and taxi's should be allowed on base as long as someone with a id is in the vehicle.

This was an affordable rest stop for us. It was more clean than other places we have stayed in the area, it indeed has cold A/C and back up generators. We look forward to staying in the future! The access to the beautiful beach and watching the ships come in was a plus! Thank you :)
