Location, location, location! The ocean view was AMAZING. The beach is steps away. Unlike other rentals nearby you won’t have to cross a busy street to get to the beach. Grocery store and restaurants are close by and walkable. I wouldn’t call the condo itself “luxury”, but it is very nice and exactly as described/pictured. I would absolutely stay here again. Deb was a great host and very helpful and prompt when we had questions. Something to consider if you stay here: the twin beds in one bedroom are very tall - small children or older folks might have trouble getting in.

One of the best locations for families looking to have a surfing adventure. Whether it’s coffee on the deck watching the paddle boarders, or evening drinks watching the sunset over the ocean, this location can’t be beat. Deb is a great host and very responsive to any of your needs. This was our second visit in this unit, and we hope for even more.

We loved staying at Deb's place. It was on the second floor with an elevator. The location itself was superb and very close to two nice and cozy pieces of beach. One was a small reef area with rocks and reefs. It was small but the amazing part was it was a resting place for turtles. If you got there (it was a minute away) at sunrise you could see a lot of turtles resting and shortly thereafter slowly swimming away into the ocean. Keep in mind that the path is a tiny bit steep. Another sandy beach close by was perfect for a swim. I am into fishing so I spent almost every sunrise catching small reef fish. The house was clean and the extra sofa bed in the living room helped. The balcony was great to have coffee in the mornings (after fishing). Deb's place also had some beach chairs, beach umbrellas and small surfboards (I think?) which we appreciated a lot. The house is also close to Kalama park and a lot of seafood places. Definitely recommend Deb's place.

Where to start! This place was everything and more than we could have asked for during our stay on Maui. To watching 20+ sea turtles beach themselves for the night in the small cove just outside your door, watching surfers from the patio or those same turtles going back out to sea with the tide in the morning with your coffee, it was amazing and it felt just like a home away from home. Walking distance to a number of beaches, restaurants and shops. Centrally located to so many different activities that we did all over the island and right in Kihei, but peacefully quiet at night. Deb was a great host, with tons of tips and local information to use. Her place was also spotless and offered anything you could possibly need. I cannot recommend this spot enough it was the perfect home base for our family trip.

Amazing stay. The location is excellent and near good restaurants. There’s a beautiful little private beach right alongside the property and good snorkeling among the rocks in front of the property.

It’s hard to say something that hasn’t already been said. Having done a lot of travel internationally, there are a few things that make an ideal location for us and this place has it all—good space and well equipped, responsive host, walkable to good food etc, views, the right location vis a vis other activities, comfortable seating… We couldn’t be happier we stayed here and Deb is indeed the fantastic host everyone else says she is!

We love staying at the Punahoa. Not only for its awesome location right in the middle of the action in Kihei, (as well as amazing beaches, swimming, snorkeling, SUP and surfing at its literal doorstep) but also for the building itself. It’s got soul. And it’s also very well maintained, feels safe and secure, and Zaldy at the front office is a friendly, kind, and generous manager. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else.
