Our family of six (four children ages 8-12) made our first trip to Great Exuma and stayed at Take It Ease Sea for a week in March 2021. We could not have been more pleased with Take It Ease Sea, which upon arrival and throughout the week was exactly as advertised.
The villa is centrally located on Great Exuma about ten minutes from the airport and no more than 30 minutes from either of the furthest ends of Great/Little Exuma. We found no inconvenience in traveling to what turned out to be our favorite beach, Tropic of Cancer Beach. Downtown Georgetown is closer than even the airport, though we had minimal need for downtown. Grocery and liquor stores are literally around the bend and preclude a need for a trip to downtown.
The villa is exceptionally well equipped in the kitchen, bedrooms, and throughout. We cooked many meals in and took advantage of quality kitchen items, appliances, and a spectacular outdoor gas grill. The bedrooms and beds are comfortable. Apparently due to bugs, the owner asks that the outside doors remain closed at all times. We ran the air conditioning at a comfortable but reasonable temperature, and slept well.
Service and communication were spectacular. We drained a five gallon water jug one evening halfway through the stay and sent a note to the owner and the housekeeper. A new jug arrived first thing the next morning. Check in and check out were painless.
The highlight of course is the setting. The ocean immediately outside the house is beautiful, peaceful, and the view is everything you want in a vacation. A manicured beach in the backyard facing the ocean with quality chairs was our choice in how to end each day. All the toys you could desire are available for onsite use (paddle boards, kayaks, snorkel gear, etc.). I did note that portable beach chairs were not there, but I bought a pair for my wife and I and donated them to the house at the end of the week...
It was our first trip to Exuma and hopefully won't be the last. We'll feel no need to research other villas if and when we return--we'll simply get in touch with the owners of Take It Ease Sea.
