Fantastic Stay

We had the best stay. Something for everyone to do. The beach area is great for kids. Paddle boats, kayaks, beach toys, games!!! Downtown Manistee is 25 minutes away. Salmon fishing close by. This place is truly the best! So great we booked our 2025 trip the day we checked out. Can’t wait for next year!!! See you then:)

Cabin 6 relaxing place!

Thank you Rick and Marie for a great stay at your beautiful little hideaway. Your property and the lake are amazing. You have done a great job updating the cabin but yet keeping it true to its almost 100 year old history. You know how to treat your guest and give them the best you can. You have the room so if you can put in a few more cabins and maybe a bathroom in the boat house by the lake ??. Cabin 6 is up on the hill and its a long way to try and run back to use the restroom. We loved your place so much we will be back. Thanks John and Becky

Charming, peaceful, relaxing

As always we love our week at Pine Lake. Cabin 6 is our favorite because of the view from the hill, but we and family members have stayed in all 7 of the cabins over the years and we adore them all. Rick fixed a minor leak in the plumbing with amazing alacrity the minute we noticed it. Thank you Rick and Marie for your love and care of one of my favorite places.

Stay at Pine Lake Cabins

What a Great place to take a relaxing vacation. There is water toys for children, kayaks, canoes, row boats and a lake house that has life jackets for all. This was so much more than what I thought it would be. My family and I had a great time and will be making this a family tradition for years to come. My children kept say "I don't want to leave today, can't we stay longer?" It was such a break away from the every day hustle and bustle. The owners are amazing and sweet people. There is also a restaurant in Wellston for breakfast and lunch that is just down the road with Great Food and Dublin General Store is also a few miles away.

Look forward to visit all year long.

Have been coming to Pine Lake Cabins for nearly forty years. The current owners, Rick and Marie, have made a good number of improvements. They truly care about their guests experience. Love the rustic nature of the cabins. The lake is beautiful and not overly developed. The fishing is good, the loons add another northern element. Great family vacation spot. Or as my friend and have aged, just a great spot to be close to nature in a lovely northern Michigan locale. Highly recommended. Made my reservation for next year before sadly heading home. Fifty one weeks to wait.

Peaceful cabin retreat.

My husband and I enjoyed the beautiful cozy log cabin at Pine Lake tremendously. Accommodations very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed using the kayaks on Pine Lake and seeing a Loon dive near us. Loved waking up and hearing all the birds and occasional Loon call. Used the Seek app and discovered Pink Lady Slippers and Sundial Lupine near the cabin. Checked out the Vogue Theather in Manistee on a rainy day which was a gem. Next time need to remember a hand towel and bath mat. Would highly recommend. Thanks for the stay! Karen and John Cremering

Great accommodations!

Rick and Marie were very accommodating as they made sure we had what we needed, i.e. toiletries and other necessities. We were impressed how well Cabin 6 is well maintaoned structurally and furnishings. In addition, I enjoyed getting one of the row boats out on Pine Lake which was provided for guests to enjoy the lake. Although I didn't catch any fish during our stay me and friends or family will come back in the future and reel in Pike, bass, or big bluegills. Last but not least, Pine Lake Cabins resort is conveniently located to Tippy Dam, 55 Market for fresh cuts of meats, and nearby baitshops. Thank you! Gary Schopmeyer, Warrenton, Virginia

Wonderful!

Great place! Marie & Rick are fantastic host making each stay at their resort simply wonderful. During our stay mother nature threw a curve ball via a significant windstorm. The storm blew down a couple trees that fell across the road to our cabin (#6) and took out power lines shutting down power to the resort as well as the surrounding area and blocked our path in and out. As soon a daylight came Marie was out checking on the guest and Rick was out with his chainsaw clearing the road. Soon after they had a generator running to ensure the cabins had water. Throughout the day they both worked the phones with power company and were working on plans to keep things operating. Eventually the power company showed up and power was returned. Even with the dilemma this is resort is a wonderful place with great owners. Without any hesitation it is the first place we look at for any stay up north.

This is the second time my brother and I have stay at Pine Lake Cabins. There is not one negative thing I can report. Rick and Marie will do most anything to accommodate your stay and are the nicest hosts one can find. The fishing was great and our side trips to Pappy’s, a bait and tackle shop, Dublins general store, and the Oak Grove bar and grill in Iron, were most rewarding. (Tuesday’s is hot dogs and live music night at Oak Grove!). You might want to try salmon fishing by the Tippy dam not far away So many things to do and Rick and Marie will help you ENJOY your stay!!!!! Thanks you two, Roy and Fred

A Trip to Remember!

My brother and I stayed in this wonderful old log cabin (#6) for eight days. We loved every inch of that cabin and it’s location on top of the hill. We loved the lake for its easy exploration using a trolling motor and even though the fishing was slow, given the time of the year, cold, rain, and snow, we are eager to get back to try our luck again. The surrounding area was beautiful and traveling to Tippy Dam/pond was a great experience also. We plan on fishing by the dam also on our next visit. Pappy’s bait shop was an unexpected joy talking to Rob, the owner, about the area’s history as well as going to Dublin General Store for all our daily needs. (Try their delicious jerky and smoked ribs) Last but not least, the owners, Rick and Maria, are the best hosts I have ever dealt with in my thirty years of twice a year fishing with my brother. They are a breath of fresh air, as courteous and professional as can be. Do not pass this jewel up, as long as you do not want the same cabin as I come springtime!?? Roy

Like Coming Home

Our visit was like coming home after a very long time. I hadn't been there for over twenty years. Pine Lake Villa will always have a special place in my heart. My dad used to race his 19 foot Lightning Sailboat against Mr. D's Fireball sailboat when we were kids. Great times! Now the cabins are much more comfortable with all the upgrades done by Rick and Marie B. They are good people and made us feel even more at home. We are looking forward to coming again next summer! We enjoyed a nightly bonfire, meals on the grill, hiking the beautiful grounds, a game of horseshoes and evening fishing in the row boat on Pine Lake. The proverbial hidden gem!

We were fortunate to find time for a last minute late summer vacation, and even more fortunate to find Pine Lake Cabins. I have been camping, fishing and exploring the Wellston area most of my life but this was my first time at Pine Lake. It would be tempting to give a poor review to keep a place like this a secret, but that wouldn't be fair. Rick and Marie have obviously been working very hard and were nothing but friendly and helpful. We came ready to bike, fish and explore many other places in the area but could have been just fine staying in camp for five days. We usually try to go to different places from year to year, but we'll be happy to make an exception and come back to Pine Lake next year!
