Training Center Cape May Guidelines for Security and Base Access

IF YOU NEED UNESCORTED ACCESS TO THE BASE PLEASE CALL THE MWR OFFICE FOR THE REQUIRED FORM

Training Center Cape May enforces a strict physical security and force protection program.  To gain entry on base and partake in MWR programs without an escort, you must possess one of the following forms of identification: 


Identification Forms for Unescorted Access
  • DoD Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Federal Personal Identity Verification (PIV)
  • Transportation Workers ID Card (TWIC)
  • Armed Forces Identification Card
  • Uniformed Services Dependent ID Card
  • DD Form 2 (for retired members)
  • DD Form 1173
  • Auxiliary Identification Card (AUX ID)
  • Additional personnel as authorized by the 2019
      National Defense Authorization Act


Individuals not in possession of a credential listed above will require additional screening by Cape May security personnel prior to their arrival on base.  Complete the attached form and submit it to the MWR Office at least three working days before requiring base access.  If the security staff offers a favorable screening, individuals must present one of the below forms of identification at the gate to be issued a visitor pass and be granted access: 


Supplemental Identification Forms for Unescorted Access
  • Driver’s license or REAL ID
  • Federal, State, or Local identification card
  • U.S. Passport or U.S. Passport card
  • Permanent resident card or Alien Registration Receipt card
  • Foreign passport with a valid customs stamp
  • Employment authorization (USCIS Form I-766) that contains a photograph
  • School identification with a photograph
  • U.S. Military or draft record
  • U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Card
  • Native American tribal document



Escorted Access


If you are not in possession of any forms of identification listed above, you must be accompanied at all times by an authorized individual while on board the base.  Only the following personnel are authorized escorts: Military Personnel, Federal Civilians, Military Retirees, Adult Dependents (18 years or older) of Military Personnel, Personnel in possession of a DD Form 2765, and Contractors with a CAC.



Additional Information


All people and vehicles are subject to search at all times while on board TRACEN Cape May.  Firearms and weapons are prohibited on base.  The Commanding Officer reserves the right to restrict access to Coast Guard facilities in accordance with applicable policy and regulations.
